White Widow

White Widow is undoubtedly one of the most well-known cannabis strains available. It is a 50/50 indica/sativa hybrid that was bred from a pure sativa Brazilian land-race strain and an indica hybrid from Kerala, South India, that had been refined through many generations of selective breeding in its native Kerala mountain regions. Royal Queen's White Widow is an S1 strain that resulted from self-pollination. Despite its famous potency this is a cannabis strain that is most suitable for first-timers as it is very simple to grow requiring no special skill-set or attention to the plants above what is normal, i.e. feeding, watering, removing old, dead leaves etc. Grown indoors plants typically reach a height of around 100 cm. Outdoors in the ground or large pots this can easily double. Its structure is such that it makes a good plant to grow in either a Sea of Green (SoG) or Screen of Green (SCRoG). Indoors White Widow will yield about 450 - 500 gr/m2 in 8 - 9 weeks of flowering under 600 watt lighting. Outdoors this figure goes up to 550 - 600 gr/plant with harvest likely to be late October north of the equator. Although it does like a lot of sun White Widow is quite resistant to colder weather and so it can do well outdoors in northern Europe if it isn't too cloudy and as long as the rains hold off in the last few weeks. The taste is very much like pine with some citrus evident on the exhale. THC production is high at 19% while levels of CBD are medium at between 1 - 5%. White Widow is a hard-hitting high that evolves into a rather sativa effect with a strong cerebral high.
