Velvet Octane

Velvet Octane is a new strain from Humboldt Seed Org. which is 70% indica. It results from crossing Afghan OG with Geist OG (a.k.a. Ghost OG), the latter being known for a complex terpene profile. Growers in search of potency, flavour and high potential yields need look no further as this double OG strain will surely please. Velvet Octane is a robust plant, compact and much more vigorous in vegetative growth than other OG strains. It's a hungry feeder although it nitrogen requirements are much more moderate. Indoors plants are very well-suited to the SoG technique, otherwise known as Sea of Green. The optimum planting density is 6 - 9 plants/m2 and they will benefit from a trellis-type of support system to help bear the weight of the buds. Some leaf pruning of the canopy allows for better light penetration and better subsequent yields which fall within the range 450 - 600 gr/m2 and which will be ready in 56 - 60 days of flowering. Outdoors Velvet Octane thrives in warm, dry to arid conditions and can reach a height of 300 - 400 cm. Yields are very good at between 1000 - 4000 gr/plant with northern hemisphere harvests being ready in early October. The terpenes are dominated by beta-myrcene and beta-caryophyllene which lend a fuel and spice character with notes of black pepper and citrus. THC production is between 19 - 21% while CBD is low at just 0.1%. The potent effect produces long-lasting sensations that go straight to the head helping consumers to wind down after a hard day's work.
