Purple Bud

Purple Bud is a powerful, prodigious-yielding Afghani indica strain that has been blended with a little sativa genetics. This plant has a marked tendency to display vivid purple colouration towards the end of the flowering cycle especially when night-time temperatures drop and the surrounding air becomes much cooler. It is a very simple plant to grow and even prospers outdoors in temperate (i.e. northern European) climates. Purple Bud has been on quite a journey from the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan via California's nascent medical marijuana community and thereafter to Holland, birthplace of marijuana breeding and growing in Europe. From Afghanistan came the two indica cultivars which comprise the majority of its genetic material and which provide the structure, bud density, short flowering time and heavy potency of Purple Bud. Into these promising genetics were blended a Jamaican sativa which gave extra height and a lot of lift to the high. The result was then further crossed in Holland with a Hindu Kush/US Purple Kush hybrid to create this amazingly colourful and potent strain which tends to show the most colour in its buds rather than only in its leaves. Some plants will retain verdant leaves while having deep purple buds. These fat, sparkling, mature buds cover the plant at harvest time. While beginners will be amazed at just how easy it is to grow the more experienced will also enjoy the yields of high quality weed from Purple Bud. Flowering in between 60 and 75 days the buds from this compact strain exude a pine scent with sweeter, sandalwood notes. The high is a very strong body-stone with some lift from the sativa component.
