Kokiri Forest
Kokiri Forest is a new CBD-rich strain created by crossing a 1998 D.J. Short Blueberry with Dancehall Mapetit. The Blueberry surely needs no introduction by now, average in terms of yield but nothing else and famous for its delicious aroma and taste of ripe dark berries including blueberry of course. Dancehall, on the other hand, is a newer strain; an award winner whose qualities include rich flavour, very good yields and a THC:CBD ratio of 1:1. Kokiri Forest is mainly indica in genetic make-up growing with wide, dark leaves and a short inter-nodal length which gives tightly-packed bud development and which thrives on organic fertilisers. This is a plant that requires carefully measured feeds of nitrogen during the whole cycle although extra magnesium and calcium is beneficial during flowering. A delicious aroma of red berries, orange zest and a hint of spice fill the environment as the buds develop and fill out. The flavours are sweet and continue the orange/red berry theme. Its effect is the final prize; energising with the calming influence of CBD, at between 2% - 5%, which removes any possible traces of edginess. THC levels are high, measuring between 15% - 18%, leading to a nice, smooth high that melts away pain and which is very social and not at all heavy. In total the flowering period takes from 65 to 75 days indoors; outdoors in northern latitudes it will be ready to harvest during the middle two weeks of October.
