Ice

Ice is a three-way hybrid that was bred from a Pure Afghan with Northern Lights and Skunk. The name Ice is said to stand for Indica Crystal Extreme which gives a good clue as to its resin-producing capabilities. Great strain to use for producing extracts from, even the trim is covered in crystals. Ice is a 90% indica cannabis plant that only reaches a height of approximately 100 cm. Pinching the top out of the plant will make it grow substantially bushier with a worthwhile increase in yields. It is recommended for indoor cultivation unless growers live in a warm climate region such as that of the Mediterranean or California. It will not thrive in cool, often damp, northern European summers. Ice looks like a typical indica plant, squat with broad, dark green leaves. It can be harvested in 8 weeks of flowering although it is recommended to leave for up to another two weeks as this will really maximise its resin production. Yields are in the region of 400 - 450 gr/m2 under a 600 watt grow light. Plants grown outdoors can yield as much as 500 - 550 gr/plant as, when planted either in the ground or in very large pots, each plant can grow as tall as 150 - 200 cm. In this environment harvest will be during the month of September in northern latitudes. Buds are very dense and compact and therefore it is a very good idea to keep a watchful eye as harvest-time approaches as mould can sometimes be an issue. THC production is high at 18% while CBD is said to be low. The effect is very physical and is the very definition of the term couch-lock. It's heavy and hard-hitting and, unless you are a very experienced smoker, not recommended for daytime use at all. This is classic chill-out bud that is also a good solution to those with sleeping problems such as insomnia.
